About Us
Antiques on Canaan Street is housed in an 1844 barn on a lovely village road in Historic New Hampshire. My stock is heavily weighted with early English and European ceramics but I like to think I have something for everyone. The tradition of a one owner shop is maintained: the shelves are packed with glass, silver, tools, lamps,as well as furniture and clocks-- everything you would hope to find.
I have been collecting antiques for what seems a lifetime and selling them for fifteen years. Being a former librarian, each piece is researched in depth with the aid of my 700 specialized reference books. My travels through the US and Europe always include a visit to the local ceramics centers. I am a member of several historical associations and ceramic circles which provide a great education.
Should you find yourself in my neighborhood in the summer, give us a call for our hours. Our street used to be named Broad St and you will find it mentioned in Wallace Nutting's New Hampshire Beautiful. He refers to it as "perhaps the finest village street in New Hampshire." Worth a visit!
And on your next trip through Vermont look for my booth at The Antiques Collaborative, Quechee Vt. I show there year round.

I wanted to let you know how very pleased I am, both with the
beautiful perfume bottle and with how helpful and communicative you
were throughout this transaction. It was a pleasure dealing with you,
and I hope to do it again, and in the not-too-distant future.
Thanks very much, and regards,
Irene
