Beautiful late 1800's green glass with gold enamel hinged jewelry box or powder jar, The ox is 4 3/4" in diameter and stands 2 3/4" high to the center of the domed lid. There are no chips or cracks and the ormolu is sound, the latch opening and closing well. There is some loss to the enamel as shown and the old glass is wavy and has tiny bubbles in it. We believe that this piece is from the last quarter of the 1800's and is Czech or Bohemian. The design and shape are typical of Moser but the piece is unsigned. It is lovely and would be a very pretty addition to table, dresser, or vanity.
