A lovely old Sheffield plate tea strainer with spout and handle. Very nicely executed with a simple yet gracefully curved pattern on the bowl. Overall length is 5 3/8", with the bowl measuring 2 5/8" wide x 1 7/8" and standing 1 3/8" high. It is marked on the handle "Sheffield" with 3 hearts with the marks "P & B"; the bowl has "Patent Pending" and the 3 heart P & B hallmark. P & B are the initials of Paye & Baker of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, which operated there c. 1891 until the 1930s. Condition of the strainer is quite good with age-appropriate wear on the bowl rim and handle.
