Beautiful old blue and white transferware lamp with pierced brass/ormolu base, white shade, and elongated finial. The lamp has Romantic scenes of a castle and trees on one side and an estate farmhouse on the other with grazing in the foreground. The lower portion of the urn shaped lamp is decorated with traditional white flowers on a cobalt ground. The lamp is in excellent condition and works perfectly. The shade is new. We are unsure of the age or maker of the lamp, but the transferware pattern is reminiscent of antique blue and white Staffordshire and likely dates to the 1940's or earlier. Overall height to the top of the finial is 25 1/2", to the top of the shade, 23". A beautiful table, desk, or boudoir lamp.
