An amazing mid century modern Scandinavian glass vase--large and heavy! This is an 8 sided vase with 1" thick glass walls in an intriguing light smoke color. The architectural form is excellent, and the glass is beautifully polished with the clarity one expects from fine Scandinavian pieces. It weighs a hefty 7 1/2 lbs! 5 5/8" high with a top measurement of 7 5/8" x 6 3/8". The piece is in very good overall condition and in normal light appears perfect, but there are interior light scratches at the inside bottom from use--we manipulated our lighting to show this in one of our photos. There is one pinprick on the rim that is almost invisible to the naked eye. The vase has a ground and polished bottom with considerable shelf wear. We think there may be a signature there but cannot decipher it. Our best guess as to maker is Stromberg or Boda, and we believe this dates to the 1950's-1960's. It is just stunning in person.
