SALE Two Large Sengbusch Cut Glass Inkwells, c. 1907

Beautiful matched pair of Sengbusch inkwells. These are a large size, measuring 3" square and 3" tall. The glass is wonderfully clear and each edge is beautifully beveled. We confess to not knowing exactly how these work, as the tops say "Sengbusch Self Closing Ink Stand Co. Milwaukee, Wis. Made in U.S.A." and "Pat. Apr. 21, 03, Aug. 28, 04. Jan 15, 07.", and there is a black insert inside the well of each. These inkwells are shown in Early American Pattern or Pressed Glass (EAPG) books, though the glass is cut, not pressed. Both are in good condition save each has a small chip at one lower corner as pictured, and one has a couple of microscopic fleabites on the beveled edge.Very heavy--the pair weighs 3 lbs. Truly a beautiful pair.
