1800's Haviland Limoges Coffee Pot, Moss Rose with Rope Design

A beautiful Haviland Limoges 9 1/4" tall coffee pot in the beloved Moss Rose pattern. This is one of Haviland & Co.'s early molds, dating to the period between 1850-1880. The molded rope decoration on the finial, handle, and surround is outlined in gold and is just stunning. The porcelain is lustrous, the gold decoration as well as the hand painted florals are in beautiful condition, as is the pot itself, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. We note a pin head size dimple on the lower portion of the spout with a slight tooling depression beneath as pictured, but these are underglaze and in no way detract from the beauty of this piece. This pattern and mold shape are well documented in Gaston's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain.
