An early 1800's Davenport Longport flat rimmed bowl measuring 10 1/4" wide and 1 3/4" high decorated with a lovely Oriental floral pattern no doubt inspired by the Chinese export porcelains in vogue during this period. This creamware bowl has gilt trim at the edge and the florals are hand painted. The bowl has no chips or cracks, though it does exhibit fine overall crazing and age appropriate wear. The marks on the reverse are difficult to decipher, but it has an impressed "Davenport" with the word "Longport" faintly beneath as well as the word "Davenport" stamped underglaze in black. There are other impressed marks as well as "3322" and "F" in red.
