I purchased this ring from an antiques dealer many many years ago. At that time, I was told it was from the 1920s. It is possible because the Art Deco period saw a huge use of marcasites and garnets in jewelry design. It is a really beautiful ring that features a lovely fully faceted marquise cut genuine Garnet in a pretty sterling filigree studded with sparkling marcasites. It is a size 6.75to 7.

The ring measures just a hair shy of 1 inch long and is .5 inches wide. The garnet is .5 inches long and a bit more than 1/8th wide. It is marked "925" on the inside of the band and the writing is so tiny I couldn't photograph it! There are age related scratches to the band but the stone is in perfect condition and there are no issues. It could use a good cleaning.
