Antique Ivory Dragon Cigarette Holder Pre-Ban Intricately Carved Lovely Patina

This is a wonderful antique ivory, probably Chinese, cigarette holder. It features a wonderful carving of a dragon whose eyes have been hollowed out and blackened. His claws and tail wrap around this piece, and he is just wonderful. As you can see, this piece has developed that honey golden patina that happens to ivory as it ages.

It measures 5 inches long and is 5/8ths inches at its widest. It has a couple of hair line cracks along the surface, which is also a sign of age. This is likely an antique item dating from the 1920s when smoking and all of its accoutrements were the rage! It is in nice solid condition, without any chips or nicks, and from a South Florida estate.

A wonderful piece for any collector of ivory, or for the tobacciana afficionado.
