This is a wonderful Victorian era, ca. 1895, mourning necklace created of celluloid (it has been tested) and featuring a large pendant cameo on a celluloid link chain. I have seen a photo of a the same cameo on a different shaped back in an antique jewelry book, so that helps me to date this.

It measures 15.5 inches long with the chain doubled, and the pendant is 3 inches long and 2 1/8th of an inch wide. The links are .5 inches long. It is in excellent condition, without signs of wear or damage to any of the pieces.

A truly large, wearable and rare piece of antique Victorian mourning jewelry.
