Rare 24 karat Gold Plated Footed Dresser Jar with Porcelain Courting Scene

This is one of the loveliest dresser jars that I have ever had! Rarely do you see a jar marked "24 karat gold plated" that still retains its stunning beauty and shine, as this does. Standing on little ball feet this beauty features gorgeous scroll work across the lid with applied floral wreath swags and a combination hand painted and transfer porcelain medallion. The lid covers a glass jar that is encased by a gilded frame that also features lovely scroll work . There are no chips to the glass at all. This vintage piece is in lovely condition.

The top measures 4.75 inches in diameter and stands 2 inches tall. There are a couple of tiny scratches to the porcelain painted medallion that can be seen only under magnification--but I want you to know about them. It has no manufacturer's mark but is stamped "24 karate gold plated" on the inside of the top. I am not sure the entire piece is plated, but the whole thing is just magnificent!
