For your consideration I am pleased to offer this magnificent antique Dresden porcelain compote, hand painted and gilded by Donath & Co. of Dresden, Germany. Donath began operating in Dresden in 1872 and decorated in the style of Meissen and Vienna. They frequently used blanks from Meissen, Thomas & Co. and Limoges, France. The company won exhibition medals in Brussels, Barcelona and Chicago in the 1880s and 1900. In 1916 Donath merged with Richard Klemm and formed a company that existed for just two years. It was taken over eventually, by C.M. Hutschenreuther.

This beautiful piece is decorated in the style known as "Dresden flowers" and features shades of red, orange, yellow, lavender and green. The sides and base are scalloped and gilded. There is an ornate gilded pattern around the inside of the bowl rim, as well as a pretty fluting of the porcelain.

It stands 4.75 inches tall, measures 8.25 inches across the top and 4.75 inches in diameter at the base. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There is amazingly minimal wear to the gilding for a piece of this age.

A truly rare opportunity to enjoy a nice sized piece of antique Dresden porcelain that will add grace and elegance to any table or display cabinet.
