Franziska Hirsch operated a porcelain studio in Dresden from 1893-1930, and decorated in the Meissen and Vienna style. Hirsch used blanks by Meissen, Rosenthal and MZ Austria. She is listed in the "bible" on Dresden, "Dresden Porcelain Studios," by the Harrans. This particular mark was the subject of a lawsuit that Meissen successfully won against her. So this marks dates this piece to between 1893-1896.
This elegant, rare and lovely piece measures 5.5 inches long and 4 1/8ths wide, and 2 inches tall. The opening would fit a .75 inch candle. There is a tiny little chip under the rim that I did not notice when I acquired this piece. It is not visible when you see it sitting on a table, however, I've made every effort to photograph it for you, and have priced this lovely antique piece accordingly.
