SOLD Royal Doulton Plate Hand Painted Cobalt & Gilt Ca. 1927

For your consideration I present an exquisite hand painted cabinet plate from the venerable English studios of Royal Doulton. Dating Royal Doulton can be somewhat tricky, but this mark was seen as early as 1902 this plate dates to approximately 1927. The cobalt and liberal use of gilding make this somewhat unusual for Royal Doulton, but it is just magnificent and even prettier than the photos show.

This is similar to another Royal Doulton cabinet plate that I have in the shop. However, upon close inspection you will note that the center floral sprays are different. That is the only difference that I can tell. This plate measures 10.5 inches in diameter. It is marked on the back "Royal Doulton England." It also has the numbers BB 3409 and V1446.

There are no chips, cracks or crazing and no wear to the gilding that I can see. This is in near mint condition which is rare for a plate of this age. A wonderful opportunity to own a magnificent piece of Royal Doulton. If you are interested in both cabinet plates of the same theme, contact me for a better price!
