They founded their glass factory, Daum Frères, in Nancy, France in 1889 and at first produced coloured glass in a naturalistic style similar to Gallé's. The crystal manufactured by Daum is highly sought after and very collectible.
This is one of the largest vintage Daum perfume bottles that I have seen, and it has its original atomizer. It is designed with an undulating swirl that gives an amazing visual fluidity and light refraction to this magnificently clear bottle.
The bottle stands 5.5 inches high and is approximately 2.25 inches at its widest point. The silver toned metal stopper and atomizer are in excellent condition without signs of wear. The pale grey toned atomizer is in excellent condition without fraying of the fabric and the bulb is still pliable. The interior glass funnel for the atomizer is also made of crystal and it is intact and without chips. There are no chips, cracks or other issues with this lovely piece. It is signed "Daum France" on the side near the bottom as the photos show. It weighs 1 pound and 6 ounces and is solidly beautiful crystal.
A rare opportunity to own one of the finest crystals in the world in the form of a magnificent perfume bottle!
