This is the companion lithograph to the other Briggs that is in the shop. Again, we have a seaside scene, but again, it is atypical. Millie Briggs is a well known New England artist who has worked in the Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard areas for decades. If she is still living, she is quite elderly at this point.

The artist depicts a woman gathering wild daisies and the hint that it is near the ocean is the sea gull in the air. She has painted a soothing scene without using the tired and over done elements that seem habitual to this genre. Like the other lithograph, this appears to have been made from an original watercolor.

Signed by the artist, M. Briggs, this is number 338 of an edition limited to 500. This is unframed, and I am showing it to you in a forest green matte. Whoever originally framed this lithograph, cut one inch off the top of the natural matte surrounding the art. It did not cut down into the actual lithographed center art piece. As a result, this piece should have been an 8 X 10 inch, and now it is 7 X 10 inches. As I have shown, it can be matted nicely without any real loss of the subject. The price is for the lithograph rematted and beautifully framed.
