Happy Birthday America!
Both Hair and Mourning jewelry have been around for centuries in some fashion or other, and they are highly sought after by collectors. Not all hair jewelry is, however, mourning jewelry, men would take hair from their beloved with them to the battle field as a remembrance, etc.
My research on this highly unusual piece has turned up nothing similar. The dealer that I purchased it from had not either, but she did believe it might be from Asia because the owner she purchased it from had spent many years there. I, however, believe that is simply speculation.
What I do know to share with you is that this bracelet is in excellent condition, it has two pottery like beads, one with the all-seeing eye depicted, and the other with the swastika--which has been an occult symbol for centuries prior to Adolph Hitler's use of it. Hitler was very into the occult and that is one of the reasons he chose the swastika.
I will not attempt to date this piece except to say that there was a huge popularity of hair jewelry in the US and Europe during the Victorian era. As far as the history of hair jewelry in Asia, I cannot say.
