The master salt swan is beautifully posed, with her head tilted to the side and resting on her wing. It measures 5 7/8 inches long and 3 3/8 inches wide. Swan is beautifully detailed, with expressive hand painted eyes. Condition is excellent, with just a couple of pinpoint dots of color loss on the top of the beak. There is no other damage, nor any signs of use. Finish is bright, glossy and vibrant. Apparently, used only for display and visual enjoyment.
The individual swan salts are in great condition, also with no signs of use, and bright, glossy and vibrant finishes. One does have a tiny loss of color on the tip of the beak that you can feel very slightly. They measure nearly 1 3/4 inches wide and approximately 2 3/4 inches long.
This beautiful set is pictured in an orange version in Joan Van Patten’s Collector’s Encyclopedia of Noritake, with a 1997 value of $140-$180 for the set.
This blue lustre set is even more gorgeous!
