Vintage Cast Iron Sitting Pig Still Bank Williams

This charming cast iron sitting pig still bank dates to the 1930s and is attributed to A.C. Williams. This smiling pig bank has the original gold painted finish and red painted mouth. Gold paint is a light coating on the surface, as though it was sprayed, rather than hand painted, where you would have a heavier coating of paint. There is some wear to the gold paint, more like rubs to the surface, and it has a very mellow and natural look. Red paint on mouth has only small losses.

Bank measures 4 9/16 inches long and 3 inches high. Casting is silky smooth and in excellent condition, with no breaks, damage or repairs.

According to O’Brien’s Toy & Prices Guide, this was listed as the seated pig. They state that A.C. Williams was founded in 1886 and started producing toys in 1893. Small cast iron toys were their specialty, with banks, cars & aircraft predominant. They ceased production of toys in 1938, and marked few, if any, of their toys.

He would be a nice addition to a still bank collection or for the collector of pigs. He is just Super!
