This beautiful sterling silver tablespoon or serving spoon is identified in Hagan’s Sterling Flatware as the Prince Albert pattern, which was made by John Polhamus beginning in 1865. Whiting also made the same pattern in mid 1800s, but the design is slightly different.

Tablespoon features a lovely flowing scroll design and an ornate tip. Back of spoon is marked “Sterling”, but no hallmarks to indicate maker, so I cannot say with certainty who made it. It measures 8 5/8 inches long and weighs 3 regular ounces or 84 grams, and is quite substantial.

The original owner was very discreet and had their script monogram placed on the reverse. It is AAE in lovely flowing intertwined letters.

Condition is excellent, with no notable damage or wear. It remains bright and lustrous.
