The two center doors have the original leaded glass sections at the top, with teardrop shaped beveled glass inserts. Bookcase sits on six large claw feet, four across the front and two at the back.
The middle section is bowed at the sides and projects out from the side sections about two inches to provide a nice visual element. Columns at the ends have a finely-detailed carved section in high relief at the top.
Measurements are 68 1/2 inches wide, 14 1/2 inches deep and 55 inches high (including the casters for easily moving). Paper label on the original back reads: Rockford Chair & Furniture Co., Rockford, Illinois. The two end sections are 16 1/2 inches wide. Center section, with two doors, is 28 1/2 inches wide.
There are eleven oak shelves in total, four in each end cabinet and three in the middle. All shelves are adjustable, to accommodate very tall and very short books with ease.
Bookcase is in excellent sound original condition, with a nice medium golden oak finish. Doors open and close nicely and lock into place securely, with push buttons at the door handles.
This is an excellent antique oak bookcase, late 1800s early 1900, and would serve equally nice as a display unit for your treasured collectibles.
