Condition is very nice, with a shiny glaze on the exterior and the sides of the interior. Only the very bottom of the inside shows glaze loss from use. There are four dark dots on the inside, which I believe were glaze pops, with darkening under the glaze around them. Base edge has a 3/8 inch chip that is very smooth and has the same glaze over it as the rest of the base rim, which indicates to me it may have been done when it was made. Overall, it doesn’t impact it too negatively, even when viewed from that side. No hairlines or cracks. This one doesn’t even have the crazing, which is so typical of these early bowls. Have tried to point out any little fault, but this is really a beautiful sound bowl, with a shiny glaze and fabulous style!
We have also listed two other similar bowls that were being used with this as a nested set. The coloring of the bands on this and the 5 3/8 inch bowl are identical, and the 10 1/4 inch bowl is a lighter shade of brown.
