We're pleased to offer this 19th century Victorian silver plated bride's basket frame or holder, made by the famous Derby Silver Co. in Derby, Ct. - it is just over 13" tall, 9-3/4" wide between the handle sides and barely 7¼" wide between the two small "fences" on the edge - the base is 5¼" in diameter across the feet. It's beautifully made in the aesthetic style. The split loop handle features an ornate pierced raspberry or blackberry design at the top with floral vines on the sides. The small "fences" on the rim of the bowl are pierced in a lovely floral design. The bowl features a flared band of alternating panels of pansies and violets all the way around the edge. Four pierced floral design feet support the base. The underside of the base bears the makers Quadruple plate mark and the number 3252. This beautiful old piece is in very good condition with no breaks or cracks - we have not polished it, leaving that decision to the buyer, but the plating appears to be in good condition. With the gorgeous ruffled teal cased glass insert, and a second cranberry cased glass antique bowl is included, both in Excellent Condition with no cracks chips or repairs, it is a stunning piece of genuine Victoriana. Lay-A-Way Plan available.
