The figure popularly known as a Kate Greenaway type stands 2 1/4 inches inside a floral frame with 2 Birds and a Butterfly.The artist, Kate Greenaway,during the latter part of the 19th Century, popularized children dressed in early 19th Century clothing.This unique 1869-1898, Meriden Silverplate Co.Quadruple Plate, with a Lion, is the mark on the bottom of this Victorian Brides Basket, along with the maker's number 1684, and can be seen with a loop. It has been polished recently, and the silver quality is in great shape. It has a 10 inch diameter and is 3 inches from foot to bowl. A honey comb design, adorns the four feet. The silver basket, has a wonderful ornate vignette of a Victorian girl, with a small broom in her hands, in a frame with birds, flowers, branches, and a butterfly. Please see the 3 pictures of the Kate Greenaway figure of the girl. A tiny bit tippy, but other than that, Excellent Condition.
