This spectacular piece was made by a very seasoned artist in the Art Nouveau period (ca. 1920). The carved ivory figure depicts a woman standing upright with her left leg and arm behind her and her right leg and arm in front of her. The pose is amazing as is the detailed face, fingers, and body. She stands upon a wonderfully colored onyx base, likely a trinket dish. The quality is amazing. This very well may be one of Ferdinand Preiss' original works (he was known for bronze, ivory and marble combinations) as some of his smaller pieces went unsigned. A real collector's item and a great investment.

Condition: Excellent condition. Normal age cracks. One small chip to the Onyx base

Measurements: 5 1/4 in. high 5 in. diameter. Ivory alone is 4 1/4 in. high.
