Antique Carved Ivory Coin Purse in Cameo Relief - Dieppe, French ca. 1870

This is a wonderfully detailed and unique coin purse. It was made in Dieppe, France and dates back to the third quarter of the 19th century (ca. 1870). The front is a hand carved genuine ivory plaque depicting a European couple and two other men. They are surrounded by trees and a castle can be seen in the background. The carving and detail is superb, executed in deep relief. The back is also covered with ivory. The interior is lined with the original red satin. Just beautiful!

Condition: Great condition! The carving is perfect. There is some normal wear and tear to the fabric. The purse may appear crooked/slanted in the pictures, but it is not!
