Here we have a very nice ivory carving that was made in Dieppe, France in the mid-late 19th century (ca. 1870). This wonderfully hand carved figurine depicts an aristocratic man, wearing a Napoleonic hat, fine clothes, an overcoat, and playing a mandolin. He stands on a nicely turned ivory stand. A great, quality piece. Check out our other European ivory!
Condition: Great condition. Slight damage to the hat, damage to the left pinky finger.
Measurements: 8 in. high on base x 2 1/4 in diameter. Figure alone is 5 1/2 in. high.
Item ID: D-2
