This ivory figurine was carved in Dieppe France, ca. 1860. It depicts a young girl holding a bouquet of flowers with another at her side. Her delicate fingers, the wrinkles in her dress, and the piercings in her collar all testify to the detail used in executing this piece. It sits on a nut wood base which is also nicely carved.
Condition: One flower has a tiny chip about 1/16 in., virtually unnoticeable. The wood base has a chip to the bottom.
Measurements: Total: 3 in. high x 1 1/2 in. diameter. Ivory alone: 1 3/4 in. high x 1 in. wide x 1 1/2 in. deep.
Item ID: D-15
