Art Nouveau Nude Ivory Figure on Onyx Base, French Carving

This is an exquisite piece of Art Nouveau. It dates to the early 20th century. The figure, carved from ivory, depicts a young woman wearing a hair net and a one-piece bathing suit. One arm is behind her head and the other lays on her chest, with waves of water at her feet. She rests in the middle of an onyx dish, possibly intended for change or trinkets. Both the ivory figure and bottom of the base are signed "France."

Condition: Excellent.

Measurements: 5 in. tall x 4 in. diameter. Ivory alone: 4 1/4 in. tall.
