This photo and card are rare because very few photos were allowed taken at the location due to deplorable conditions for the workers. According to "The Florida Memory State Archives of Florida", the Federal Writers' Project (WPA) staff photographer, Robert Cook, accompanied a team to a turpentine farm near Cross City, Florida, but his photographs were lost before they could be preserved by the Library of Congress."
The card was published between 1905 - 1915, by the Hugh C. Leighton Co. Manufacturers, Portland, ME. Made in USA. It measures 3-1/2" x 5-1/2". One cent domestic stamp required. The photo is excellent condition. The card is soft on the corners.
