Information
"Too Hot To Hold" is a charming 19th century steel engraving with later hand coloring from the original painting by Sir Edwin Landseer. English painter, Landseer (1802-1872) was one of the finest animal artists of all time and he is especially renowned for his paintings of dogs, many of whom seem to have human qualities.
In this engraving, an over zealous dog is obviously atempting to retrieve a burning food item, probably without much success.
