Offered for your consideration...is this beautiful and elegant square Noritake Japanese porcelain handled dish, hand painted with a very pretty floral decoration. The dramatic design is created using black enamel paint and heavy raised gold paste accents enhancing the floral which completely encircles this dish. There are four cartouches of pleasantly colored, hand painted floral bouquets with one floral bouquet prominently placed in the center on the crisp white background. The handles and edge are embellished with gold, and this along with the interior raised gold embellishment shows some slight age related wear...yet, not detracting from the beauty of this piece at all...and actually "adding" to it's charm! The dish measures 8 1/8" from handle to handle and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration of any kind.

The back bears the green identifying mark of the Noritake Porcelain Factory located in Nagoya, Japan...as referenced on Page 74, Item "D", by "Kovels' New Dictionary Of Marks, Pottery & Porcelain 1850 To The Present" by Ralph & Terry Kovel...dating this wonderful treasure to ca. 1911.
