Antique Limoges Porcelain Plate ~ Hand Painted "POPPY" Floral Decoration

Offered for your consideration is this very pretty and interestingly decorated, antique Limoges porcelain plate. This piece is adorned with an interesting hand painted design of peach and yellow Poppy blossoms and mint green leaves, and embellished with heavy gold accents and border. The background is white with pale yellow gold framed center.

The back bears the identifying green underglaze white ware mark of the Bawo & Dotter Limoges Porcelain Factory, and red overglaze decorating mark with "Hand Painted" in brown...dating this wonderful piece to between ca.1900 and 1914. (Having double markings adds value to the piece).

This wonderful plate measures 8 1/4" in diameter and with the exception of some light scuffs on the gold and small surface scratch only seen when held toward the light...this piece is in excellent condition with no hairlines, chips, cracks, or restoration.

A very beautiful and interestingly hand painted piece of antique Limoges porcelain.
