Offering wonderful examples of hand painted LIMOGES, MEISSEN, NIPPON, ROSENTHAL and R.S. PRUSSIA...just to name a few!
As referenced by the "Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain", 3rd edition, by author Mary Frank Gaston, the back bears the rare...not often seen, identifying "Limoges, France" Mark 3, on page 402 (underglaze white ware mark in green, banner shape, used after 1891). Also displayed on the back of this piece, are the artist's initials "E.J.B" 1/12 (January 1912), as shown in the photographs along with the backstamp. Another example of this exquisite blank is pictured on Page 404, (Plate 1030), valued at $275-$325.
This beautiful dish measures 10" square (11 7/8" corner to corner), and is 2 1/4" tall off the table at the highest points. The dish is in "excellent" condition...with no hairlines, chips, cracks, or restoration of any kind. The gilding is in excellent condition as well, with only some "very" slight gold loss in just a couple of spots...mentioned only for complete accuracy, as it is hardly noticeable and in no way detracts from it's beauty or value. A Limoges treasure to behold!
