REDUCED Mermaids! Old Sheffield Silver Fish Serving Set

This has got to be the most beautiful set I have ever seen! It was made by Henry Atkins of Sheffield England. Henry was a silversmith starting in 1833, back in the days of Old Sheffield fused plating and one of the first to use the new electroplating method in the 1840's. The hallmarks on these pieces are his unregistered old Sheffield Platers mark however these pieces have got to be electroplated if not sterling! The set consists of a fork and a slice. Both with amazing intricate etched detail of mermaids and King Triton. They have ivory handles and come with a fitted box. There are no words to explain the beauty that these masterpieces hold and the pictures do not do justice! The slice is 13 inches long in all with a twisted ivory handle. Both sides of the blade have a nude mermaid with a shell. the front shell has another mermaid grooming her hair.
The fork is 6 3/4 inches long with an ivory handle and both sides of the tines depict an etching of the King himself! Both pieces are finished with silver bands around the handle and the hallmarks are crystal clear!
There is absolutely no silver loss on either piece! The only damage noted is a 2 inch crack in the fish slices ivory handle. The artwork is impeccable!
They come complete in a 14 inch fitted box. It has some wear to it but holding up just fine! This set is over 150 years old and such an important piece of silver history!
