Circa: 1890 Dimensions: 63" wide x 83" deep x 22" high This is an English Victorian Armoire. We purchased it in London, England. The Armoire is made of Mahogany and has a rich, Deep Mahogany Patina. It has been embellished with a splendid Pattern of Marquetry. It is in very good condition.

The Armoire has a Deeply Pronounced Cornice. It is beautifully formed and has a Plain Frieze below. The perimeter of the Frieze is framed by a lovely Marquetry Banding.

There is a Door located centrally. It has a deeply beveled, Long Mirror.

The Door opens to reveal a roomy interior with a Clothing Rail flowing across the center.

Flanking the Door are beautiful Fixed Panels. The Top Panels have an opulent display of detailed Marquetry Work. a variety of woods have been used to create a pattern with Sheaths of Wheat, Foliate Scroll Work, Bell Flowers and Ribbon. These frame the Diamond Form at the center of the Panel.

Each Panel is framed by an exquisite Marquetry Banding.

Below are Two Drawers. These too, have a lovely Marquetry Banding. The Drawers open to reveal Roomy interiors for holding your folded articles of clothing.

The Armoire comes with its' original hardware. This includes the elegant Victorian Key Plate, Lock , Skeleton Key and finely formed Oval Bale Pulls.

This is a very fine, English Victorian Marquetry Armoire. It has quite a functional, roomy interior. It will grace your home with true period elegance.
