Circa: 1880 Dimensions: 57" wide x 22" deep x 89" high This is a beautiful French Louis XVI Armoire. It is made of Oak and has a golden, medium oak patina.

This Armoire is quite elegantly made. It has a finely formed Cornice with a Frieze below that is carved with a delicate Laurel Leaf Pattern. The floral design continues upon the Fixed Stile running between the Doors. It has a beautifully carved, Oval Wreath framed in Bell Flowers. Vertical Reeding flows down the center of the stile.

The Armoire has Double Doors. These have Beveled Mirrors. The Doors have their original, beautifully formed key plates, lock and skeleton key.

The Doors open to reveal a large interior with a clothing Rail running across the top. This is a very functional interior.

The outer corners of the Armoire are finely carved with Fluting. There are Two Short Drawers below. The Drawers are made in Sunken Center Panel Design and have fine, Dove Tail Joints. They open with their lovely Wreath Drop Pulls to reveal roomy interiors.

The Armoire is supported upon lovely Baluster Turned Legs with Ormolu Mounts.
