French Hanging Parrot Ceiling Light

Willing to deviate from the norm? Then feast your eyes on this decidedly different hanging lamp from France, made of hand carved wood and crafted into the shape of a perched Parrot. Rather than veggies and squawks this fellow spouts a glass lamp instead with a variegated red shade. While the wood and aluminum chain are of the vintage variety (early 1900's) and European, the lamp and wiring are modern and suitable for American households and the eternally hip. Measures 28.5" in length, 10.75" in width and is in good condition for its age; having a small nick in the wood here and a scratch there, the worst of which is a chip to the side of the Parrot's tail (see pic). There is also some staining to the aluminum chain, which just might be original. Works and works well - the shade, when lit, enhances the darkness of the wood. Quite the illuminating fellow, prepare to be pleased!
