Victorian Fallen Parrot Bronze Paperweight

A most unusual paperweight from Vienna, Austria of a Parrot on its back, with wings still outstretched and feet clenched as though it has just fallen off of a perch. Made of bronze and created between 1880 and 1900, this piece is incredibly detailed - from the shape of the Parrot's feathers to the lines in its feet. Measuring 5 1/8" in length with a wingspan of 2.25", it is in excellent condition with a nice patina, although the bottom is naturally a little more shiny. Unmarked but obviously a quality piece, which nestles nicely in the hand or on the desk. An exceptional item, one you'll prize for many years to come.
