Vintage Original Scarlet Macaw Oil from Europe

Here we have a pair of Scarlets that are larger than life (literally) rendered in oils and brilliantly colored. Both are captured in a state of interested expectation, with a friendly look on their face, and appear to be in the wild. This vintage painting came to us directly from Germany and is done on very heavy cardboard, almost a board. It is surrounded by a wood frame that has been painted off-white and gold and may have been handmade. As the Macaws are large so is the painting, measuring 33.25" x 21.5". The painting is held to the frame by nails and has a hook on the back for hanging. It is also signed by the artist on the back although I can't make out what else it says (see pic). It's overall condition is good, with a couple of small areas of flaked paint, a 5" scratch at the bottom (see pic) and one in the Macaw's tail. The frame is a bit rough with scratches, dings and paint wear but still quite presentable in the right decor (Shabby Chic, yes, Ultra Modern, no, Paris Apartment, maybe). A fitting homage to those colorful clowns, certain to bring a smile to your face. Love Macaws? Love this!
