SOLD Art Deco Macaw Clock Frame from France

First the bad news: the clock shown does NOT work, we are selling the frame only. Now on with the good.........Made in Europe in the early 1900's (1920's or 30's to be exact) this porcelain frame charms completely with its pair of cuddling 'Caws on the top, each with a friendly look on its face and each delightfully detailed. The piece is hand painted with incised flowers at the base and is well made with a nice weight for its size. Measures 6 3/8" tall, 5" long and 1.75" at its widest area, while the inside well is approx. 2.75" in diameter and 1.5" wide. Simply marked with a number on the back, the frame is in pretty good condition, although I have noted some clouding in the black paint on the back at the base of the birds (see pic) and a crack in the same area that doesn't seem to go anywhere (see that pic, too). A delightful piece from days gone by, suitable for use as a picture frame or display piece, or fit it with newer clock workings and make it "Birdie Time" once again. Very Deco 'n very delicious, you'll love it, just 'Caws!
