1940's Goldscheider Cockatoo Figurine

A colorful and well made Cockatoo figurine (reminds me of a Rosebreast) created by the Goldscheider company in the 1940's or 50's. My research tells me this company was only in the U.S for 10 years or so (1943-1953) and was in Vienna previous to that, so it's production was quite limited and its quality assured. You'll find the 'Too hand painted in vibrant pink & gray, and posed with crest erect and cheek feathers puffed, as if quite interested in something (that pizza on mom's plate, perhaps?) It measures just over 8.75" and is made of pottery, so it's a bit heavy for its size. The bird is in excellent condition, with nary a chip or crack, just a couple of paint flakes on its crest (see pic) and crazing which is indicative of age. It is marked "Original Goldscheider Fine China" on the bottom, along with "A. Jacob", the artist's signature, and some other markings (see pic). A sure stand out for your collection, bet you love it as much as I do....or more! ;-)
