Featuring some of the smallest stitches I have ever seen, this needlework from the turn-of-the-century is not only well preserved, it is exquisite, too. It features a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo among roses and florals in the middle and is surrounded by an oval, wood frame. Mirroring its stitches, the piece is petite, measuring just under 6" in length and 3 7/8" in width. It is protected by glass on the front and has cardboard on the back, which is held on by nails. The material is in excellent condition for its age having no rips or tears but does have some light staining underneath the Cockatoo (see pic). The frame is sound but shows its age via a few scuffs on the front and some loss of gesso on the back edge of the top (see that pic as well). Great for the space challenged due to its diminutive dimensions and a trophy for those with a love of antiques, birds and beauty!
