A very cool Art Deco table lamp from the 1930's, made of cast iron, and sporting a helpful Parrot at the top. Birdie Boy is holding a ring in his beak which is attached his cage (light socket) and below the bird is more decorative cast iron and a detailed base. I am pleased to report that quite a bit of the original paint is still on the Parrot. I think the cage and socket have been repainted in the past but it matches the rest of the lamp perfectly. Measures 12 7/8" tall, is 5" in diameter at the base, and is marked "Patent Applied for" underneath the bird. It comes with its original bakelite plug which works. It is turned off & on via a switch on the Parrot's cage and takes a regular sized bulb, although I do not recommend one with high wattage. It's in good condition although I have noted some paint flakes on the cage top revealing shiny metal underneath, some bends to the cage in the same areas, and some "stuff" inside the cage top that you cannot see from the outside, which may be an old repair (and perhaps why the socket & cage were repainted?) Be sure to see the pics as my description sounds worse than the reality. So if you've been looking for a Parrot to light up your life, then this boy may do the trick. He's a keeper, I'm sure you'll love him, paint flakes & all!
