1920's - 30's Vantine's Owl Perfume Burner

Looking every bit like a Birdie Buddha is this unusual Art Deco Owl, who sits upon his raised dais with feathers puffed and a stoic stare. Made in France between 1920 and 1930, this spelter specimen is a perfume burner (or an incense burner for all you modern folk). It was made by Vantine's, a company well known for their perfume burners 'n bottles, and is so marked on the bottom. The burner is two pieced and releases the smoke not only through the bottom vents but through the Owl's hollow eyes as well. Measures 3.5" tall and 3" x 2.5" at the base. It shows its age via some wear to the bronze-gold gilding and obvious use in the center well. It is heavy for its size, well detailed, and the perfect acquisition for that Art Deco Owl lover who has (almost) everything!
