Victorian Butterfly Wing Sterling Bar Pin

A dainty and diminutive bar pin from the late eighteen to early 1900’s, featuring a butterfly wing Birdie in the center. The pin measures a mere 1 7/8” in length, while the winged center is .5” tall and 3/8” wide. The clasp is simply made with a hinged area to the left and a fastener that is reminiscent of a safety pin. It is in good antique condition although I have noted the bar has a slight wave in it on the right (nothing to be concerned about, just being accurate). It is simply marked “Silver” on the back but its origins are likely South American where this type of decoration (butterfly wings) was once in vogue. A sweet little pin from days gone by and for days to come. You’ll be pleased, we’re sure.
