An elegant Jasperware dresser jar from the early 1900’s featuring a Grecian Miss on the cover ever admiring her pet Cockatoo (and the feeling seems to be mutual!) This jar was made by Schafer & Vater of Germany and is done in a semi-bisque porcelain with white, cameo-like decorations. Besides the Cockatoo and companion, you’ll find roses on both the top and side as well as a decorative border along the lid’s edge. Measures 3 5/8” in diameter and 2” tall. It’s in good condition although I have noted a flaw to the porcelain on the side above the rose (see pic) which is a result of manufacturing and entirely original. Also noted are two small, dark “spots” located on the woman’s arm and breast (see pic). Simply marked 3004 on the bottom. Great for powder, jewelry, trinkets, pins, potpourri and what-have-yous. Oh so chic and with a Cockatoo, too, how can you go wrong?
