A precious pair of Cockatoos to light up your life in a subtle way and to impact your heart in a BIG one! Made of porcelain and standing a surprising 10.25" tall, this night light from Europe has everything a Cockatoo lover could want - and more. The birds are hand painted in soft detail and have wonderful sculpting from the muscles on their breasts to the feathers in their crest. When turned on via the wheel switch on the cord, they emit a soft glow, while their eyes shine a little brighter to let you know that their heart is warm. Although made in the 1920's or 30's, their condition is excellent. I can tell they were rewired around the 1940's or so (the original cloth cord is on the inside, while the bakelite plug is without) and still work with that wiring today. The lamp is marked twice on the bottom, although it is EXTREMELY difficult to make out. I have seen this lamp before and recall it's made by a famous maker but my research has been unable to identify the mark nor the maker. I will update the listing once I do.
