New birds from Europe just arrived on the 3rd ...... come see!
A gorgeous (and heavy) silverplate napkin ring, produced by the Meriden B. Company between 1886-1889. On the side of the ring sits an interesting (or perhaps interested, judging by his crest) Cockatoo, with nice feather detail and a sweet face. The napkin ring is engraved with both flowers and the name "Lide" (?) at the top and has a design along the edges. The ring is slightly out of round (see pic) but still attractive, and measures 3 3/8" long, 2.5" wide and 2 3/8" tall. About 80% of the silverplate is intact and the condition is good. Marked "Meriden B. Company, 228" on the bottom. Very Birdie special, you'll be pleased with it, we're sure!
